Sound Check targets −16 LUFS. Apple turns loud tracks down to match. Mastering for −16 preserves dynamic range.
Content louder than −14 LUFS is turned down. Music videos and lyric videos follow the same rule.
Tidal normalises to −14 LUFS across all quality tiers including HiFi and Master.
Amazon Music Unlimited normalises to −14 LUFS. HD and Ultra HD tiers follow the same target.
Deezer targets −15 LUFS. Tracks significantly above this will be attenuated on playback.
SoundCloud normalises uploaded tracks to −14 LUFS integrated loudness.
EBU R128 / AES streaming standard recommends −16 LUFS for podcasts and broadcast content.
Aim for −14 LUFS integrated loudness for most streaming platforms. Leave at least −1 dBTP true peak headroom to avoid inter-sample clipping after codec encoding. For acoustic or classical music, −16 to −18 LUFS often sounds better with the normalisation headroom.
